Dressing Up Bottle & Vases

Vintage bottles are hot accessories in design right now. They're such and easy way to add a little character to a room. Whether you display them empty or with flowers.. a fun way to keep it interesting is to wrap the bottle with natural elements to complement the display or the mood of your home.

I love how we wrapped this neck of this large vintage demijohn in hemp twine and then dangle a starfish from it. This is a great way to dress up a collection of empty bottles on a console table or cabinet.
This is a really inexpensive way to add character but it has a big impact. You can just use what you have around the house to adorn your bottles or vases. Here we used scraps of  birch bark with twine.  You could even layer burlap underneath the bark... laying the wrap is so beautiful with coordinating elements.

Or a simple scrap of burlap by itself will give you a similar effect.
Other things you can use to dress up a bottle or vase: ribbon leftover from gift wrap, all of those extra buttons that come with new clothing, or tie on a piece of jewelry, maybe a stray earring..
Make it fun, make it unexpected, but mostly, make it beautiful.
