Corona del Mar Home Tour
Our amazing designer Vicki Jansma brings signature Gardenology style to a beautiful patio of an Orange County home. It was part of the the 37th Annual Corona del Mar Home Tour, which benefits Corona del Mar High School.
Several outdoor spaces in Patti Takeda's home were given the Gardenology treatment, including this one by the spa. Takeda's existing patio furniture was draped with cozy blankets and hand-knitted natural fiber pillows.
A burlap wrapped pot with a stunning faux tree perched atop concrete console table.
Our custom made steel drum table and iron sphere makes for a stunning centerpiece.
The milky glass vases Vicki placed on the mantel contrasted beautifully with the rustic stone outdoor fireplace.
Can't you just picture yourself out here this fall ... wrapped in a blanket, enjoying a glass of wine, listening to the soothing waterfall? We sure can!
Our favorite handmade Italian pottery and dishes make for an inviting meal a top this hefty stone table.
Thank you again to Patti Takeda for allowing us into your lovely home!

Gardenology Encinitas Holidays 2010
Check out our delicious, whimsical, glorious holiday tree. Before we decorated this 12-foot artificial tree, it was a little sad and Charlie Brown-looking. Now it's dripping with beaded garlands, snow-encrusted branches, downy-white ostrich feathers, over-sized glass icicles, and happy little birds perched on the branches. Pine cones bathed in snowy glitter hang next to the rustic birch star-shaped ornaments.... a beautiful contrast. The tree is alive with shine and texture... come in a take a gander at this thing of wonder..

We tore the store apart last week. It is now put back together with our beautiful holiday displays. We are chock full of new decor ideas for your home. These wood block letter signs (below) are perfect for the mantel or side table.. I would tuck in a little greenery between the letters, hang your stockings and you have an easy way to perk up the fireplace.
This angelic statue would look gorgeous gracing your hearth, sofa table or mantel. She is a versatile 18 inches tall, so she can go just about anywhere..I love the way the chandelier is reflected in the mirror in this picture....
Our tall amaryllis bulbs never fade and can be used year after year... tuck them into a pot, top with moss and you're done. Or you can drop one into a small glass vase and show off the realistic looking bulb and roots. Beautiful and fresh..
Our mirror is draped with magnolia garland..
Our front window.... I love the juxtaposition of the spiky pine cones and soft feathers on the metal table.
Gorgeous Zinc Clock face would make quite a statement in any room.

Melinda is all dolled up in pearls and her new skirt and ready for some fun!
Warmest wishes for the Holidays!

Gardenology Newport Beach Grand Opening Party
What a spectacular evening! We had a wonderful turnout, fantastic food, and rooms overflowing with beautiful people and their laughing and smiling faces. It was the grand opening party of Gardenology Newport Beach. And we want to thank Heather Cunningham of Luxe Magazine for all of her help in making the celebration a huge success, and our amazing chef C. Barclay Dodge. We couldn't have done it without you.
Gardenology owner Lili McIntire was all smiles throughout the evening as was designer Vicki Jansma.
Our guests couldn't stop raving about the hor d'oeuvres prepared by Chef C. Barclay Dodge, now the Executive Chef at Whisknladle in La Jolla. The cherry tomatoes filled with avocado mousse topped with bacon were to die for... as were the fruit and herb skewers with balsamic reduction drizzle. And our delicious cupcakes were made for us by Rachel Hastings. The unique flavor combinations were honey-vanilla with lavender frosting and lemon with mint frosting. And lets not forget the luscious red velvet with cream cheese frosting... simply amazing!
Thank you to our contractor Jamie Acetta for transforming this beautiful space and fulfilling our vision for Gardenology Newport Beach. He's pretty cute too, don't you think?
Our guests know how to have fun! The champagne and wine was flowing throughout the evening.
Thank you to everyone who came to this event and helped make it a huge success. We raised money for a great cause, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Center and we had a great time. We heard over and over from our guests that they are so glad we opened in Newport Beach, and we really appreciate everyone's support. Thank you!

THE MAKING OF GARDENOLOGY NEWPORT BEACH
The Grand Opening Celebration for Gardenology Newport Beach is coming up soon (Sept. 16)!.JPG)
Right now the store looks so fantastic .. all of the beautiful furniture thoughtfully arranged, decorative accessories painstakingly placed to perfection, the bed ... luxuriuosly, invitingly rumpled.

It didn't always look this great, though.
It was a labor of love for several months. We took over the space at 1701 Westcliff Drive that Les Interieurs occupied for years.
Owner Lili McIntire says this space just spoke to her... the layout, the multiple courtyards and big, sunny windows. It was perfect for her purpose.
We made significant changes to the space to tailor it to our needs. First, our wonderful contractor, Jamie Acetta, gutted it nearly completely, taking out the bathroom, most of the interior walls, the ceiling, an old kitchen and the carpet.

The concrete floor was then scraped, washed and sealed.
After the girls finished the floor, they had a little fun in the parking lot!
Our contractor also built this beautiful custom cabinet for our cashwrap area.
There was some pretty heavy lifting involved, too.
A crane was required to lift our custom concrete countertop onto a cart and then wheeled inside. It took several men to install.
We finished the cabinet with wood corbels, which Meredith stained.
Voila! Beautiful!
After all of the construction and painting was done, it was time to fill our new space with furniture, flowers and accessories..
It took about 2 weeks to get the store ready for customers. We flung open our doors on May 28, 2010 without a working credit card machine and skeleton crew. It wasn't perfect, but it sure was fun!
We are so grateful for the wonderful reception we have received in Newport Beach! And we're glad we made the move to expand. We love Gardenology and are so glad you do too!
We hope you'll join us for the Grand Opening Celebration Thursday September 16, 530-8pm.
